摘要 Abstract
法國的藝術社會學發展,在其豐富的人文智識沃土上得到了豐富的養分。當代法國藝術社會學家N. Heinich曾經指出,智識界兩個研究觀點上的突破,可說是藝術社會學啟程的關鍵時刻:不再將藝術視為純美學的範疇,以及認為藝術的價值並非是絕對的。本文以世代分野的觀念,闡述現代法國藝術社會學的發展,從19世紀早期將藝術與社會分離開來的認識論,逐步演進成將藝術視為社會系統的一部分、關注藝術的社會史脈絡,至20世紀後期「藝術社會」概念的完整發展,藝術界被視為整體的社會進行實證研究。從兩次在法國Marseille(1985)與Grenoble(2005)舉行的國際藝術社會學研討會內涵看來,可發現法國藝術社會學的研究方向,已逐日加強對於文藝作品、當代藝術與藝術行動邏輯的社會學解析,並不斷對舊有理論及方法論典範進行檢討。近年來法國藝術社會學界也與公私部門建立更多的合作模式,執行大型的研究計畫,加上學術組織與研究社群的積極耕耘與運作,以及跨領域研究趨勢的活躍,當代法國藝術社會學的發展能量,仍在不斷累積與發揮當中。

Contemporary French sociologist Nathalie Heinich points to two founding moments of the sociology of art: when intellectuals began to consider material and social aspects in their analyses, and when they stopped regarding the value of art as absolute. The associated epistemology has evolved from opposing art in its society to studying the social contexts of artistic production and considering the art world as a specific social field. This evolution has been accompanied by many empirical investigations of the artistic field. Two international conferences on the sociology of art (1985 in Marseille and 2005 in Grenoble) produced a general view of research topic characteristics in France, one that included an emphasis on sociological analyses of contemporary artistic works, art world networks, and the logic of the actions of artists as social actors. Research centers are well-organized in the field of the French sociology of art, and academic networks are so active that many exchanges take place between both domestic and international researchers, thus representing a valuable reference for the local development of a sociology of art.
